Registration for CIKM 2000 is now open. The
early registration deadline is October 13.
U.S. Citizens, please note! November 7th is election day. Unless you are registered to vote in or around Washington, DC, you will want to arrange an absentee ballot. All papers submitted to CIKM 2000 have been reviewed, and authors were notified on July 23, 2000. If you did not receive your email notification, contact Ian Soboroff as soon as possible. The final camera-ready version of accepted papers were due on September 8, 2000. The original Call for Papers is available.

Conference

The CIKM 2000
Technical Program will take place on Tuesday, November 7
through Thursday, November 9. The program features parallel
technical sessions, panels, and keynote addresses by Erik Thomsen of
Dimensional Systems and Dr. Ed Fox of Virginia Tech. Four tutorials will be offered on Monday, November 6. These tutorials offer in-depth coverage of topics in information retrieval, software agents, and mobile systems. Finally, the conference will be followed by three workshops:

Registration for CIKM 2000 is open! You can register online, or fill out a registration form and send it to the address indicated at the top of the form. The early registration deadline is October 13th. The conference sessions will be held in facilities provided at the SAIC campus at 1710 SAIC Drive, McLean, VA 22102. Conference attendees may freely use the SAIC Shuttle (Tower III Lobby is the conference stop), which connects to the Dunn Loring subway station on the Orange Line. Here is a list of recommended restaurants close to SAIC. Two conference hotels have been selected. The Tyson's West Park Hotel is within walking distance of the SAIC facilities. The Hilton a short cab ride away, and there is a complimentary limo available from the Hilton to SAIC. Note: To get the conference room rates listed below, bookings must be made by the dates indicated:
The closest airport to the conference and hotels is Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD); the next closest is Reagan National Airport (DCA), but note that few if any international flights go there. Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI) is also in the area, but is at least a two hour drive from the conference. For travel to the hotels, the recommended shuttle services are:
