CIKM 2022 NSF and SIGWeb Travel Grants and Volunteer Opportunities
Thanks to the generous support from the National Science Foundation and SIGWeb, we will provide additional travel awards to selected students attending the CIKM 2022 conference. The awards will provide financial support up to $350 for virtual registration for virtual participants; or up to $1000 for registration and lodging booked at the conference hotel (Westin) for in-person participants. Awardees are expected to register to the main conference and make their own arrangements for travel and accommodation.
We are also calling for student volunteers who will assist at the conference for up to 6 hours/day and up to 4 days. Student volunteers will receive comlimentary in-person registration to the main conference (with no other travel support).
Eligibility:
Applicants need to be a full-time student (undergraduate or graduate) at an academic institution. Applicants do not need to have an accepted paper to be eligible. If you have received a SIGIR travel award for CIKM2022, you are not eligible. The selection will be made based on the following criteria:
- Students from under-represented groups will be given priority.
- PhD students actively pursuing research and close to degree completion with papers accepted in the main conference or workshops will be given priority.
- Junior PhD students and MS students with papers accepted in the main conference or workshops will be given priority.
- Please note that NSF award is for US-based students only while SIGWeb award is open to all students.
Application Procedure:
To apply for either travel awards or volunteer opportunities, please submit your application through the web form (https://forms.gle/GNAHZdreb5dUQ4Hh9 ) no later than 25-Sep 2022 (11:59pm AoE). Students are encouraged to have the applications sent as soon as possible. Applications arriving after the deadline will not be considered. The notification date is 30-Sep 2022.
